Join us for this one day workshop to learn a beautiful holiday themed cake design on

You will have a choice of two design options, with similar level of work. Both designs, regardless of the end appearance, will give you a great chance to learn multiple new skills.
In this workshop you will learn how to
- Torte, level, fill, & ice a cake
- Create smooth and sharpe edges
- Work with buttercream to pipe, smooth, texturize & more
- Work with fondant and learn some basic techniques (use molds, rolling & more)
- Properly apply Sprinkles & Paint to your design
All materials, equipments, & Snacks provided.
Each student will take home a fully decorated cake to share with your family and friends.
The class will focus on proper handling of buttercream and basic buttercream techniques needed for this holiday cake design, but the skills & techniques you learn in this workshop can be applied to countless other designs you can do in the future. There will be an opportunity at the end of the workshop to discuss some other ideas and ways you can use you newly acquired skill to other cakes in the future.
10% of registration fees are donated to Downtown Eastside Women's Centre.
* There is a lot of paid street parking around the venue. There is also a paid parking lot across from the venue (aritzia warehouse parking which you can use on the weekends and has lots of empty sport on weekends)
*You can bring as many friends or family members you like, as long as they are over 18 & have purchased a spot at the workshop.
*You can take photos and videos of your own work, taking photos of the instructors is also allowed, You will not be allowed to take a video of the instructor.
* There will be photography and video recording happening at the workshop. By completing the purchase of this workshop you agree to being filmed or photographed. The photos or videos may be used at the discretion of Joconde Patisserie for marketing, advertising, or any other purposes as deemed appropriate by Joconde Patisserie Inc and its representatives.
*Students are encouraged to share their photos or videos of the class on their social media accounts and tag Joconde @joconde.cakes
*All equipment, decorating tools, cake & buttercream will be provided for this workshop plus some snacks and drinks. Bring comfortable clothing, flat and nonslip shoes or an apron if you want to use one. Preferably hair tied back, but that's up to you! Come prepared to have fun & learn a new skill :)
