Joconde Cakes & Sweets (Joconde Patisserie Inc.) is a Vancouver based bakery, specializing in celebration cakes and desserts for all special occasions.
We started as a custom cake bakery and while we still take many custom cake design orders, we have now expanded to an online store too, where we bring popular designs based on classic and new trends to your events.
Our Cake designs have been featured in magazines, online publications and blogs including the exclusive Wedluxe Magazine (print and online), Style me Pretty, Real Weddings BC, Wedding Bells.
We are honoured to have received the Best Wedding cake design award multiple times from the acclaimed BC Wedding Awards Association. Our most recent awards include:

We operate from a fully licensed and insured commercial kitchen space in Vancouver. We take pride in using high quality fresh ingredients and make all our cakes and dessert from scratch ourselves. We are specially proud that we make all our decorations, including our famous sugar flowers ourselves, by hand, in house. Every cake we make is a work of art that is meant to please the eyes as well as your palate.
Behnaz is the owner and the principal baker and decorator at Joconde Cakes & Sweets. After Studying Law and Criminology, she took a leap of faith into the culinary world and switched her career path. She has graduated from both Culinary And Pastry Arts programs in Vancouver. She graduated on top of her class and won Student of the year Culinary Competition.
Behnaz has worked extensively as a cook, chef, and pastry chef in many of the Vancouver's best restaurants and Catering establishments including The Glowbal collection of restaurants, Hawksworth Restaurant and Bel Cafe, Thomas Haas Chocolates, Savoury Chef Foods and many others.
To become a cake designer she has travelled to many cities and has trained with world renowned cake designers to learn the art of sugar flower making and cake decoration. Some of the cake designers that Behnaz has had the privilege of training under are Ron Ben Israel of RBICakes (NYC), Lori Hutchinson of TheCaketress (Dubai- San Francisco), Jessica Ting of Miss Shortcakes (Kuala Lumpur- NYC), Marc Suarez of Le Doux College (Barcelona, Toronto), Madison Lee of Madison Lee Cakes (NYC).
