What are your serving sizes based on?
Our cakes are taller than regular cakes you would buy at a store, so a small cut slice gives a decent portion to serve to your guests, specially at events where other desserts may be
served.
Our serving sizes are based on a 1 x 2 inch rectangle slice.

Are your products nut free
Our cakes, cupcakes, and cake pops are nut free. They are produced in a facility that handles nuts of all kind. Chances of cross contamination are very low; regardless, for severe allergies we recommend not consuming the cakes.

Are all the decorations edible?
The majority of the decorations we use in all our products are edible.
This includes:
Edible prints on the cakes, sugar flowers, fondant decorative pieces, toppers,...
Some products are edible, though they include a component that is not edible but is food safe. This includes the wiring used in our sugar flowers, stemens in the flowers, lolipop sticks or wooden sticks that are used to keep some decorations upright on the cake,....
Dragees and sprinkles used in our cakes are edible, though they can be hard sometimes, If you are not removing them before serving, be cautious when biting into them or when serving the larger dragee pieces to young children.
All decorations that are not edible, are made food safe, by either attaching to fondant or covering with chocoalte so the parts that come into contact with the cake are food-safe.
We encourage to use sugar flowers in your cake but should you wish to use fresh real flowers on your cake, please note that despite sanitizing the flowers may have been treated with chemicals and materials not safe for consumption. Please discard the portion of the cake that has flowers inserted in it. This will reduce the number of servigs to some extent, depending on the amount of flowers and their placement. We try our best to minimize loss of food but please take note of this.
For any other concerns, please contact us.

We want a bright colour cake, can you make the colours different from your online collection?
We can customize colours of all of our cakes. If the deisgn description allows for colour choices or colour modification choose the colour option you prefer, or leave us a note at checkout. If unsure please contact us.
We generally use minimal amounts of food colouring in our cakes and decorations. Though edible, food colourings affect consistency and flavour of buttercream so we tend to use it with discretion. Also, too much food colouring will leave stains on clothing, and skin, and we would prefer to avoid tinting your guests tongues, or staining a white wedding gown with too much food coloring. If you still prefer a brighter colour, we are more than happy to accomodate your request.

When should I order my cake?
It depends on the occasion, date, and the size and design of your cake; and on when others place their orders.
We recommend booking your cake as soon as you have a date for your event.
For large orders or wedding cakes, 8-5 months prior to event date is preferred, for smaller orders a few weeks notice may be enough.
We cannot predict when a certain date may book up, but keep in mind, summer months are very busy and dates may be booked up a few months in advance.
If the calendar allows selection of a date, that means it is availble. If your date is showing as unavailable on the online checkout page, that means it is booked up, Please send us an email, if there is any possibility of adding your order in, we would be happy to do it.
Please note, occasionally the calendar may show as available but if you place an order that is beyond the scope of what we have availability for, we will need to cancel your order. For example, we may have an opening for a small cake, which results in the calendar showing as available, but if you place a large order in, we cannot accommodate your request and will need to cancel your order. This does not happen often, and is mostly possible when you order a large item very close to your event date. We contact you in cases like this as soon as possible.

Do you offer tastings?
Yes we do offer tastings of our cakes on certain dates.
Tasting boxes are avilable here, and they can be picked up from our kitchen facility at 1507 powell street, Vancouver.
Please note, reserving a tasting box, does not guarantee availability on the actual event date. In order to reserve a spot on your event date, an actual order needs to be placed. If you want to secure your date before you have done a tasting, we recommend you place your order and choose an arbitray flavour, and change the flavour- if needed - after your tasting is done.

Do you make faux cakes?
Yes we offer faux cakes for wedding or other events where there is no need for the entire cake to be real. Fake cakes are only offered for fondant covered cakes. Our online store-predesigned cakes are finished in buttercream and as such are not available in fake form (we might be able to do some of those designs in fondant fake form, please inquire)
Normally fake cakes are for large multi-tiered cakes where an actual cake that size would serve a lot more than the actual guest count.
Prices depend on design and how much time we have to decorate the cake. Please note, fake styrofoam cakes still need to be conditioned and prepared for decoration, and fake or real, if the decoration is heavy, it takes the same amount of time to decorate the cake.
Generally, fake cakes are less expensive than real cakes, only to the extent that is saves us baking, layering, and frosting time.
We do not recommend ordering a fake cake, and sheet cakes to serve to your guests, because usually this option ends up being the same price, if not more.
